The Milton Coalition and the Milton Public Schools are proud to be co-sponsoring the upcoming PARENT Speaker Series featuring Dr. Ruth Potee, a nationally recognized and sought after featured speaker and expert who is known for her dynamic presentations about teen/tween brain development. Dr. Potee helps Parent/guardians and community members understand the maturing adolescent brain and its impact on risk-taking behavior including the use of opiates, other drugs and alcohol. She is an engaging speaker and will explain ways to help safeguard our children’s wellbeing and promote healthy decision-making. Dr. Potee practices family medicine in Greenfield, MA and was honored by the Franklin District Medical Society as the 2015 Community Clinician of the Year. She is Chair of the Healthcare Solutions Opioid Task Force of Franklin County.
Added bonus! Prior to Dr. Potee’s talk at 6pm, and back by popular demand, there will be an interactive exhibit called ‘Hidden in Plain Sight’. This unique experience teaches parents and guardians how to spot warning signs of possible substance misuse by using a recreated typical teen bedroom. Come for this pre-talk bonus and test your knowledge about the latest hiding places and items ‘Hidden in Plain Sight’!
